Newly Installed and Recommended Software
Chrome is a 3rd party web browser that we highly recommend using over Internet Explorer. In addition to offering a significantly faster browsing experience over Internet Explorer, Google Chrome also keeps you protected from malware threats encountered while browsing the web. TL Cloud takes the extra step of imported your homepage and favorite pages from Internet Explorer. Your favorite sites can now be found along the top Bookmark toolbar within a folder entitled "Imported from IE". Should you choose to continue using Internet Explorer for whatever reason, you may continue to do so as normal; your Internet Explorer icon has been left intact, unmodified. Any saved passwords you had stored in Internet Explorer will need to be re-entered into Google Chrome, at which time you can choose to save when prompted.
CCleaner is a utility that is used to clean up unwanted temporary files collected when browsing webpages, installing programs, and through other typical day to day usage of your computer. We suggest running this program once to twice a month to keep disk space free and also to speed up your machine. To perform a clean up operation, double click the CCleaner icon located on your desktop and simply click Run Cleaner to begin the process. Depending on the last time the utility was run it may take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes to clean up all unwanted files.
The second feature of this program is a registry repair that can be accessed from the Registry tab on the left side of the program window. To begin registry cleanup, click Scan for Issues, and when then progress bar has reached 100%, click Fix Selected. When prompted to backup registry, choose Yes, followed by Fix All. Repeat this process from the beginning until "No Issues are Found" when clicking Scan for Issues. Running multiple times is necessary because as issues within the registry are corrected, more issues will be discovered on subsequent passes. We recommend running registry cleanup once every 3 - 4 months to optimize boot up times and reduce pop up error messages.
The tools menu of CCleaner (found by clicking on the Tools tab to the left of the program window), shows a list of all currently installed software on the machine. You can highlight a program from within this list and choose to uninstall it by clicking Run Uninstaller.
The Startup tab allows you to choose which programs and processes run automatically when Windows is started. Use this option with caution as disabling certain programs/processes/services can adversely affect printers and other devices.
Malwarebytes is what is known as an On-Demand malware scanner. It does not run in the background and will only check for viruses when you manually click on the program and choose a scan.
If you are prompted to update the program, ensure you do so before running a scan. If not, you will only be searching for old viruses.
When the program launches, select Quick Scan followed by Begin Scan.
A full scan is not necessary and will take an enormous amount of time versus a quick scan which typically takes a half hour to complete.
Upon completion of the scan the program will inform you whether or not any viruses have been found. If any viruses have been found, choose Show Results, place a check mark in the box next to each item, and click Remove Selected. You may be prompted to restart the computer or the program may tell you that all items have been removed successfully.
If prompted to restart your computer, please do so.
Any virus infections found will be completely removed upon reboot.

You may be wondering exactly what files on your machine were altered or detected as malicious.
For this reason, TL Cloud Correct stores a log of all removals in the c:\ProgramData\TLCloud\Support\Reports folder of your local hard drive.
A shortcut named "TL Cloud Repair Logs" has been placed on your desktop which points to this directory for ease of access.
This shortcut is not necessary for the functionality of your machine and can be deleted at any time.
We recommend viewing the logs and taking note of malicious file names so they can be avoided in the future.
